James Holmes is responsible for one of the deadliest mass shootings in U.S. history. He killed 12 people and wounded 70 people in the Aurora, Colorado movie theater while movie goers watched "The Dark Knight Rises" in 2012. Holmes admitted to the shooting but he's claiming that he was suffering from a psychotic episode. He is in court today for the first day of his long anticipated trial. During the penalty phase, the same jury that found Dzhokhar Tsarnaev guilty on all of the thirty counts against him on April 8th, 2015 will determine whether he will be sentenced to death or to live out the rest of his life in prison.
